About Us: News & Updates

About Us

Our teachers work with the New Zealand curriculum, Te Whāriki. We are guided by the principles of Waldorf education in our philosophy statement. We honour the Te Tiriti o Waitangi recognizing Aotearoa, New Zealand, as a bicultural nation.

Our aim is to protect and promote the joy and wonder of childhood. We endeavour to nurture and support each child’s potential through our understanding of the Waldorf Education.

We provide an environment which offers a safe and loving atmosphere that honours and values diversity.

Governance and Management

We are owned and governed by a Trust (Wellington Rudolf Steiner Kindergarten Trust), consisting of Trustees who are passionate about the success of the Kindergarten.

The Centre Manager (Jaci Gilbertson) and Head Teacher (Shelly Andrews) jointly hold the responsibility of day to day management to ensure the smooth running of the Kindergarten.

Our Routine

We provide a warm homelike environment surrounded by bush. Tamariki's free play and learning is supported by strong daily and seasonal rhythms.
